What it's like to build with us.

The weekly Friday photo report is worth more than people realise. I was overseas for eleven weeks of the build and never once wondered what was happening.

Our architect recommended them, then told us afterwards it was because they're the only builder who calls him during design instead of complaining during construction.

Finished two weeks past the date, which was frustrating. To their credit they told us six weeks out that it was going to happen and why, rather than letting the date quietly slip. The work itself was excellent.

We had three quotes. Theirs wasn't the cheapest, but it was the only one where I could tell exactly what was and wasn't included. That turned out to matter more than the number.

Our landlord's building manager is famously difficult. Sam Prime had the fitout application, insurances and inductions in before we'd even signed, and the make-good scope agreed in writing at the start.

Two kids under five and we stayed in the house for five months. Dust screens went up every single day and the site was swept every afternoon. I genuinely did not expect that.

Great build, but the tiler they used at the start was not up to their standard and it took two visits to fix. They replaced him mid-job and made it right at their own cost, which is why this is still four stars.

I'm a builder myself and I subcontracted the underpinning package to them. They turned up with their own certificates, their own inductions, and a program that matched mine. Rare.

The handover folder had every certificate, warranty and manual in it, indexed. Six months later a rangehood packed up and I found the paperwork in ninety seconds.
